ColossalCon/16th Birthday Party Weekend

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 29, 2008, 7:22 PM
OMG Vic, Vic, Vic! *Loves her new CDs*

As some know I decided to go to ColossalCon for my 16th birthday. Just bring a few friends -- :iconl-reyna-l: :iconkaidashosi: :iconsutaji:-- and have some fun, well and meet Vic. Well it ended up being a blast (with a few bumps that we got over). So here is the weekend! ^.^

Day One, Ranger Dinner and Drive -- Friday

So we left a little after nine, a bit late but of well. After getting SutaJi and getting the road she remembered that she forgot her money. Thankfully my mother was nice enough to lend her some. We arrived at the con a about 1:30 (pm by the way). The first thing we wanted to do was the Elric Brother's panel. We did not know at the time, but later we would find out, it was a REALLY good thing that that panel was at 3. We were able to go in the panel before hand and just stay in there. We got a space in the back of the room were I had a good spot for recording. I don't know what I will end up doing with the panel video though. By the end my arm was pretty tired, but I had some fun.
We kept walking past a sign that said something like "Dodgeball with Vig Mignogna at 4:30" Well I had heard online that it was on Saturday so I thought it meant that it was on Saturday at 4:30. Turns out it was Friday. I think we were in the Dealer's Room at that point. Sad but true. We also went up to the room to just relax for a while (we had all gone to bed relly late, SutaJi stayed up until 4:30 I think).
At about 7:05 we headed downstairs to the hotel lobby to meet up with the other Rangers for the Ranger Dinner. We met soem pretty cool people. It was a lot of fun walking over, even though it began to rain. I think that rain might have jut made it that much better. Oh and we had Cabbage Man (you know from Avatar The Last Airbender) with us! That was great. We got our own room at the resaurant we went to. (I think it was called the Sumo Sushi Buffet) We sat there for a long tie before we were able to order. I think Vic got there about 8:30, we had been there for almost an hour I think. Dinner was great! SutaJi drew pictures for a bunch of people, giving out her DA as she did. She also drew one of Vic for Vic. I thought that ws great. I think he liked it (to add to his collection of who knows how many). At some point it was pointed out to Vic that two of the Rangers at the dinner had birthdays that were really close (me being one, the other an L cosplayer that we seemed to keep running into all weekend). So they sang. After a birthday kiss, and SutaJi saying she was not going to talk to me because of it, and more chatting with fellow Rangers we took a group picture. Walking back was really fun. We kidnapped :iconne-ko-hi-me: after the Ranger dinner, having met her during it. We went to the One-Ups concert then back to our room, after deciding not to go the the dance (too long a line for it to being going on again the next night) Ne-Ko-Hi-Me stayed until about 1:30 that night I think.

Saturday -- The Day of Lines
So we woke up early hoping to make it to Caitlin Glass' panel. We failed at that one. (Kaida and NiKoHiMe made it though) Later when Caitlin, Vic and Aaron all had a panel together we ended up near the end of the line. We barely made it in. We did get seats but I wanted to record it so I stood in the back. Afterwards they were signing autographs and we got out there and were the VERY last ones in line. Vic had said that he was doing autographs after his concert that day and I knew that we could catch Aaron and Caitlin on Sunday (when there were less people). So we went back inside and had about an hour and a half until Vic's concert. We sat out side the door of the concert (not really in line) for a while close to a half hour. Then went and tood behind some people who had begun to make a line. After a while they left and we were the first ones in line. Some other Rangers that we met at dinner came over and stood with us. (The line was not that long at that point in time) After a while people kept coming over and standing next to us, they thought it was the Dealer's Room line. After a while we just made a sign that said (after many failed atempts) "Not Dealer's Room Line" With an arrow that said "that way". The concert ended up starting late due to that fact the the Autograph signing got moved inside due to rain. So we ended up waiting line line for over an hour and a half (plus that floor sitting) But we were the first in line! So that was great. After that we got pushed to the other end of the hotel for autographs. That was a TINY hallway, way too small for that many people.
Had dinner at P.F. Changs and went to the Rave later (excluding Reyna who needed to sleep) Kaida went up pretty earlier but SutaJi HiKoHiME and I stayed until almost 2.

**will write about Sunday at a later date, I have things I need to do at the moment**
